ADHD-Europe aisbl has charted a Declaration about AD/HD with a view to getting as many psychiatrists, psychologists and other healthcare professionals to endorse this document with their signature.

It is our intention to begin distributing this document on September 21st, 2009, the beginning of the AD/HD-Awareness Week 2009.

ADHD-Europe is a European umbrella organization comprising 27 member AD/HD self-help organizations from 19 countries in Europe. Although we have been working together since 2005, lobbying European institutions and national governments on behalf of people afflicted by this condition across Europe, we only became an international legal organization, formed in Belgium as an AISBL, in March 2009.

Our aims and objectives are as follows:

  • To advocate throughout Europe for the rights of people affected by AD/HD and comorbid conditions in order to help them reach their full potential.
  • To facilitate the efforts of national and regional AD/HD organizations in Europe to improve the lives of people with AD/HD in their respective communities.
  • To promote AD/HD awareness and information on a European level, as well as evidence-based treatment, in an effort to combat ignorance, stigma and intolerance with regard to AD/HD.
  • To work alongside European institutions and community to establish effective policies and improve existing legislation.

We kindly ask you to read our Declaration about AD/HD and complete the Endorsement Sheet if you agree with the statements that are contained in this document, making sure to sign it in the appropriate place.

As we have a tight deadline, we would appreciate your sending the completed Endorsement Sheet by email to joanne.norris@adhdeurope.eu as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation and support.
